"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. These commandments I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."
The first part of this verse I know by heart, like many of you probably do. I wasn't as familiar with the second half, but as a mother, it really stuck out to me. I am with Logan all day, and I need to make sure that I am teaching him and showing him that we need to love the Lord with everything that is in us. And I should be doing this all throughout the day, every day!
This verse comes to my mind often, especially when I am too busy. God reminds me that this isn't optional. It is more my "job/duty" to teach our children about God than it is to do other busywork. It's the little stuff that will make the difference in their hearts. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Sarah.
